road to health

In the majority of cases, practice members receiving chiropractic care will feel better within days, hours or even minutes. But when you have traveled the rough road from health to sickness, it is only fair to warn you that the road back to health may not be entirely free of obstacles and disappointments. The good news is that healing, although not always comfortable, is always rewarding!

The road back to health often takes time – weeks, months, sometimes even years, depending upon the extent of damage done or the length of time your health breakdown and spinal problems have occurred. In the meantime, some pain or discomfort, though usually mild and temporary, may be experienced. These healthy symptoms are typical through the healing process as your body starts to change and repair. Retracing (old symptoms) may also occur. This is part of the work of healing, recovery, and restoration of optimal health.

Rather than becoming discouraged or alarmed by these symptoms, stay on the positive track! Your chiropractor’s acceptance of your case is your best assurance of his/her faith, confidence and belief that your body will respond to chiropractic care.

Further assurance is that you are headed for a new lease on life and that these healthy and retracing symptoms indicate your health concerns should soon be but a fading memory. Symptoms are not always “bad” but are often a sign that you are healing. One of the best “things to do” for your symptoms is to acknowledge it and “just be with it” knowing that improved quality of life is on the way!
