The Doctor Of The Future

chiro-spine1

“The Doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, diet and the cause and prevention of disease.”

Thomas Edison

What does that mean?

It means that the day will come when people will realize that medicine has detrimental effects, and that medicine covers up the symptoms and pain rather than correct the cause of the problem.

The body’s lifeline is the brain and the nervous system which is protected by the spinal column—the human frame.  The spinal cord carries all the information that is being sent from your brain to the rest of your body.  Thus your spine is protecting the most important part of your body and of your life.  If the spine is compromised, so will your health and your life.

Diet is important because you need to give it the adequate nutrition it needs in order to function properly. The food you eat is the fuel source for the body.  If you put junk in, you will not get the performance you expect, just as you wouldn’t from a car.

Prevention– why wait for a problem to show up before you take care of your body?  Take care of yourself-if you lose your health, you lose everything and most of the time you can’t get it back to the peak that it was before.

The Future is Now!

Fun Facts Friday ~ Chipped Tooth

repairing-chipped-teeth

The tooth is the only part of the human body that can’t repair itself.

If you’ve ever chipped a tooth you know just how sadly true this one is. The outer layer of the tooth is enamel which is not a living tissue. Since it’s not alive, it can’t repair itself, leaving your dentist to do the work instead.

Planting The Seeds Of Health

Always Do Your Best. What You Plant Now, You Will Harvest Later – Og Mandino

Progress takes time. Though it is true that no one lives forever, it is never too late to start planting the seeds of success. Too many people worry that because they are a certain age, their lives cannot be bettered.

Life is a rollercoaster of good and bad moments. Sometimes we may find ourselves struggling while other times, we may find ourselves doing wonderfully well. No one can be sure that the next day will bring happiness and good fortune, but we can make sure that we try our hardest and put our best effort towards doing what we can now to be triumphant later.

In order for beautiful flowers to grow, they must first be planted. While the seeds of life may seem small, they are quite powerful. Think of each step towards your goal as a tiny seed that you will plant and have one day grow into a gorgeous bloom.

Chiropractic plays an important role in helping you reach those goals by opening up the communication between the brain and the body to function at its peak potential.  During the month of June George’s Chiropractic is “Growing the Health of Our Community One Seed at a Time” by offering Complimentary Initial Consultation & Exam On June 21st at the Lancaster office and June 28th at the Bart office.  Please be sure to call the office closest to you to schedule a time that is convenient for you.

The Spinal Column ~ June 2017

Happy Fathers Day

JUNE 2017

A father is neither an anchor to hold us back

nor a sail to take us there, but a guiding light

whose love shows us the way.

It’s The Little Things That Add Up

PRC-217 big

Cleaning, carrying the children, desk work, shopping, it’s all the little things that add up to needing an adjustment!  It’s important to be checked regularly for misalignments.

Fun Facts Friday ~ Elephants

There are two types of elephant, the Asian elephant and the African elephant (although sometimes the African Elephant is split into two species, the African Forest Elephant and the African Bush Elephant)

asian-african-elephants

  • Elephants are the largest land-living mammal in the world.
  • Both female and male African elephants have tusks but only the male Asian elephants have tusks. They use their tusks for digging and finding food.
  • Female elephants are called cows. They start to have calves when they are about 12 years old and they are pregnant for 22 months.
  • An elephant can use its tusks to dig for ground water. An adult elephant needs to drink around 210 litres of water a day.
  • Elephants have large, thin ears. Their ears are made up of a complex network of blood vessels which help regulate their temperature. Blood is circulated through their ears to cool them down in hot climates.
  • Elephants have no natural predators. However, lions will sometimes prey on young or weak elephants in the wild. The main risk to elephants is from humans through poaching and changes to their habitat.
  • The elephant’s trunk is able to sense the size, shape and temperature of an object. An elephant uses its trunk to lift food and suck up water then pour it into its mouth.
  • An elephant’s trunk can grow to be about 2 metres long and can weigh up to 140 kg. Some scientists believe that an elephant’s trunk is made up of 100,000 muscles, but no bones.
  • Female elephants spend their entire lives living in large groups called herds. Male elephant leave their herds at about 13 years old and live fairly solitary lives from this point.
  • Elephants can swim – they use their trunk to breathe like a snorkel in deep water.
  • Elephants are herbivores and can spend up to 16 hours days collecting leaves, twigs, bamboo and roots.

Subluxations Start At Birth

Slide21

Dr. Godfrey Gutmann, a German physician, conducted a study of over 1,000 newborns shortly after birth.  He discovered that over 80% of the infants had suffered trauma to their cervical spine, which resulted in vertebral subluxations.
